Spanish Summer School: Self-Guided Course

Spanish Summer School

Students who did not earn a C or better in Spanish will need to complete several units of independent study in order to enter 10th grade Spanish. These units are taken from the Foreign Service Institute (FSI)'s program designed to train diplomats and other foreign officials. This is a no-frills program that is designed to improve your competence in Spanish with maximal efficiency; hour-for-hour, I believe it's the best way you can use your time to get yourself onto a better footing for next year's Spanish class.

Here is the letter explaining the program to students and families.

Here is a checklist to help you track your work: Work Completion Checklist

Below are the files needed to complete the units of study. I recommend downloading the files to your computer for ease of use -- to download, right-click on the file and click "Save as...". You can then use the file directly from your computer. You can also print out the text and transfer the audio files to an MP3 Player, which will allow you to complete this work away from the computer.

Here's a link to all of the units (these units are from the "Programmatic Spanish" course). You can continue your studies there, or backtrack and do earlier units if you find these units too difficult.
